Reflections, Reflections
I chose one of my many reflections to reflect upon. After completing a lesson on the writing process, I took 1 minute and reflected upon it. I have always struggled with writing; it’s not my favorite thing to do. However, after realizing that writing is a process and that I don’t have to get it right the first time, I learned to enjoy writing. I reflected that because writing is a process, everyone goes through it at different speeds. Over the last several years, I have learned that reflecting is critical for me. I have learned that reflecting on what I have studied, seen, experienced, done, etc. helps me to learn. I am able to learn from my experiences (good and bad) by reflecting on them. I am able to grow as a student and as a teacher by writing daily reflections. I will encourage my students to take 1-2 minutes every day to reflect upon something that happened that day. You can learn something from every experience you have and I want that for my students. I will help my students understand that reflecting is a personal activity and that you get out what you put in. I will show them that if they take this exercise seriously, they will be able to grow as students and as people.
